This morning at 8:30 AM we have Retail Sales data releasing.

Retail sales are always important to pay attention to because it is a reflection of the strength of the consumer.

When the consumer is strong, they have excess money that translates to retail sales. Conversely, when we are under inflationary periods and consumers do not have as much leisure money to spend, retail sales typically drop.

Therefore, we will see this morning where the consumer is currently at.

We have been pretty all over the board in terms of where numbers have come in over the past year, but last month was our strongest number in a long time.

We are looking for a continuation of strength this morning.

If the number is strong, you will see retail names move and it could present buying opportunities.
